A little about me.

I am a writer. I also take pictures. During the day I work in federal climate policy.

Through my art I hope to offer a glimpse of our world’s commonality: what unites us, and what we must protect for future generations.

I have a few hobbies.

Most involve being outside.

I grew up in Samoa, surrounded by the living world. Ever since, my life has been shaped by a fascination with animals.

I spent the first half of my life studying to become a primatologist.

My love of photography extends to film. In particular, documentary film. In 2022, I co-directed, filmed, and produced a conservation documentary in Kibale National Park together with Jorge Ramos-Luna. The film is about the community-conservation initiatives and local narratives in and around northwestern Uganda. The documentary was submitted to film festivals to raise funds for Kibale’s efforts to improve people-park relationships. This project was made possible by grant funding from the Irving Andrew Porter Foundation.

I love to cook.

Occasionally, I paint and mess around with cyanotypes.
